Life Update: I’m Back

Hello lovely,

I’ve neglected my blog over the past few months as my main focus has been school. My mind has been occupied with the dreaded Leaving Cert. For those of you who aren’t aware, the Leaving Cert is an important exam year in Ireland and your results influence which college you go to and which course you do. Over all it plays a massive influence in an average teenagers life in Ireland.

Thankfully in June I finished my exams and I’m delighted to say that I’m now studying Biological Sciences in CIT.

I was going to get back into blogging during the Summer but I went into a, sort of, creativity rut you could say. I lost the passion and thrill I had for blogging. It came to a stage where I felt like the internet was saturated with blogs that are producing, more or less, very similar content over and over again, lacking the one thing we all started this with, originality.

I was unhappy with my blog because I noticed I was staring to delve into the repetitive nature that comes with beauty blogging.

When I started this, I didn’t want to be branded as a beauty blogger. I wanted to vary my content between beauty, lifestyle and just general interests of mine.

I still love beauty, but that’s definitely not my only passion. For example, I have a big passion for music. I love scrolling through Spotify on a daily basis and finding new and upcoming artists that I know are going to go far in there careers. I also love to bake. During the Leaving Cert I didn’t have as much time to bake and now that I do, I’m looking forward to sharing some recipes with you. My interest in reading has also re-sparked after the few years in school that made me too busy to focus on a good book.

These were my hobbies and interests when I was young, before I knew how to apply foundation without looking like an orangutan.

I want to share the content on my blog between all of my interests. I want my posts to be varied and original. I want you to be able to get a sense of my personality from my posts, not a robotic version of me who got too comfortable with going along with the crowd in a direction that was taking me to a place I don’t want to visit.

Of course I still will be posting blogs telling you about amazing beauty products that come into my life. But I won’t be doing it as often as I was if everything goes according to plan. And if I do, please give out to me a tell me to cop myself on!

So what does this rant mean?

Basically, be prepared for new content. Prepare yourself for posts that I started this blog wanting to make. I’m going to write posts that make me happy, and if I’m writing something and I’m not happy with, then I’m not going to post it for the sake of having a post up on time.

This will be very difficult at first but please just hold on with me through this new chapter. I’m excited for this and I hope you are too.

I'm an 18 year old student from Ireland. At the moment I'm in my first year of College/Uni studying Biological Sciences. I have a few interests like makeup, music, baking and also writing. I started this blog because I wanted somewhere to share all my thoughts. What I love, what I hate, what I'm thinking/doing. I hope you all enjoy reading as much as I love writing.
